Wisconsin Big 10 Women's Rowing

Rowing enthusiasts and nature lovers, mark your calendars! The Big Ten Rowing Championships are returning to the stunning Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wisconsin, on May 19, 2023.

This year’s event is extra special to us, as the later start time benefits migratory birds that use Devil’s Lake as a crucial rest stop and foraging ground during their journey north. The adjusted schedule ensures most transient birds are now well on their way further north, demonstrating how we can balance our love for sports with our respect for nature.

Devil’s Lake State Park has a rich rowing history, hosting its first regatta in 1877. The University of Wisconsin-Madison women’s rowing team has competed here several times since 2015, including events with Michigan State, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Iowa. The Wisconsin men’s team has also raced at Devil’s Lake since 2012.

Devil’s Lake State Park, with its crystal-clear waters, towering bluffs, and lush forests, offers a perfect setting for the Big Ten Rowing Championships and an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators alike.

The first race begins at 9 a.m. CT, with the awards ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Spectators can expect incredible displays of athleticism against the breathtaking backdrop of the park.

Whether you’re a die-hard Wisconsin rowing fan, a college sports enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, this event is not to be missed. Don’t forget your camera to capture the stunning scenery and thrilling moments!

Join us at Devil’s Lake State Park on May 19, 2023, as we celebrate the power of sport and the wonders of the great outdoors! For more information and event details, please visit the Big 10 Rowing Championship News here.
