Admission to Devil’s Lake and all Wisconsin State Parks is FREE THIS WEEKEND. Fees are also waived on Wisconsin State Trails and fishing licences as well.

From the DNR: During Free Fun Weekend June 6-7:

  • No state park admission stickers or trail passes are required.
  • People may fish without a fishing license or trout/salmon stamps. All other fishing regulations apply.
  • ATV, UTVs, and OHMs are exempt from registration requirements. Resident and non-resident all-terrain vehicle operators do not need a trail pass to ride state ATV trails.
  • Capacity limits remain in effect at some properties to limit overcrowding.

Camping? Bathrooms? Concessions?

As we sit here on June 2nd, I can tell you that no one outside of the parks bureau in Madison really knows for sure what will be open this weekend. As you know, right now camping, bathrooms and concessions are closed. I could share rumors or guesses but we’ll leave that to the Facebook groups. I can tell you that the folks in Madison have been in the habit of waiting until Friday to drop new info on the public. I know, not helpful. Maybe it will be different this week? We’ll see…

Have An Alternative

I was reminded to remind YOU that there is a very good chance the park will fill early due to capacity limits. When that happens, you should have an alternative plan or it could ruin your weekend. Maybe you want to visit another nearby park or other natural areas if you’re looking to hike. For various options in Sauk County Click Here.
