Devil’s Lake State Park has three concession areas that meet visitors’ needs. On both the north and south shores of the lake, you’ll find concession facilities including a historic building (North Shore Chateau), food service, and watercraft rentals. A camp store is located in the lower Ice Age Campground. This page has the most current information on hours, boat rental rates, and what’s available right now.

Boat Rentals
Rental Rates (Per Hour)
Hourly rentals only. Last boat out at 5 PM. Prices subject to change.
What You Need to Know
Available at both the North Shore Chateau and South Shore Concessions Building on a first-come, first-served basis. All rentals are weather and wind dependent. Availability may be limited on busy weekends and holidays.
- $100 refundable deposit required
- Valid photo ID required
- An additional hour deposit required at time of rental
- Life jackets (PFDs) provided with all rentals
- Life vest must be worn at all times on the water
- Renters must be at least 18 years old
- Check in and pay immediately upon return
- Rental charges continue until check-in is complete
- No alcohol permitted
- Renter is responsible for all watercraft and persons using it
- All boats must be returned by 5:45 PM
- Specialized kayaks available for people with disabilities — call ahead
Boats cannot be reserved online. Subject to weather, wind, and current demand.

Devil’s Lake Fish Fry
Set up at North Shore Chateau. Battered or baked fish with coleslaw, picnic salad, chips, and bread.
Cash only. Runs until sold out. Provided by The Relish Tray Bistro & Speakeasy.
Nature Center Kayak Tours
Seasonal guided kayak tours of Devil’s Lake offered by the Devil’s Lake State Park Nature Center. Naturalist Lead Tour. Life jackets required.
