Explore the Devil’s Lake Nature Center
See the landscape like never before with a detailed, three-dimensional landform model that offers a bird’s-eye view of Devil’s Lake State Park. Nearby panoramic displays reveal how the ancient valley—once over 1,000 feet deep—was slowly filled with rock and sediment, leaving behind the striking lake we know today, more than 50 feet deep.
Visitors can interact with a variety of hands-on natural history items, including real animal bones, furs, shells, and rock specimens.
Downstairs, step back in time with a collection of historic photographs dating from the late 1800s through the mid-20th century. For younger visitors, the kid’s exploration room features fun quizzes, interactive activities, and mystery boxes filled with hidden treasures to touch and explore.
The Nature Center offers something for every age—whether you’re curious about geology, Wisconsin wildlife, or the park’s fascinating past.
