White Mound County Park is directly west of Natural Bridge State Park and just off of Highway 23 between Spring Green & Reedsburg. The 1,100 acre Sauk County Park offers a 70 site campground, 104 acre lake, picnic & swimming beach, shelter rentals, play grounds, hiking trails, Horseback riding trails, great fishing and more. In the winter 11 miles of trail are groomed for cross-country skiing as well.
Of White Mound’s 70 campsites, 30 are electrical. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Restrooms & pay showers are available on site. Campgrounds are open from April through November. Exact dates are weather dependent. One unique feature of White Mound County Park is the ability to “Horse Camp”. A horse campground is located at the north end of the park and offers restrooms, picnic tables, hitching posts, trailer parking, fire rings and water pump. The park picnic and beach area includes picnic tables, grills and restrooms. The beach sandy and fairly well maintained. There is a small but nice playground with swings, slide and tiny climbing wall. There are also 2 reservable shelters within the park. You will need reservations for the shelters.
Fishing is also popular at White mound. There is a boat landing on the opposite side of the lake from the beach which offering easy access to the water. Just like at Devil’s Lake, gas motors are not allowed and you may only use trolling motors on White Mound Lake.
