View Across Devil’s Lake From Tumbled Rocks Trail.

Difficulty: Easy

Why Hike It? Great views of the lake while walking through a mix of fallen rocks (Talus) and pine forests. Hike between the north and south shore of the lake, combine with the West Bluff Trail to create a loop. (1.3 miles)

Description: The Tumbled Rocks trail is paved, however the pavement is not in great shape. You may be able to explore the first 1000 ft or so of the northern end by wheelchair or with a stroller, but eventually the trail surface will become too rough. Tumbled Rocks is also a popular trail to fish from. (From the trail, you’ll have to climb down through the boulders to the lake shore.) This trail also offers access to the popular diving rock, “Rock 8“.

Winter: Like all park trails, The Tumbled Rocks Trail in not maintained for winter hiking. The trail and can get downright scary in the winter and shoulder seasons as water runs across the trail from the bluff above and freezes creating hazardous conditions. We recommend wearing ice cleats on this trail anytime it looks icy.
