Devil’s Lake State Park has a bright new informational sign on the north shore in front of the visitor information office. The sign hopefully will make it easier to let visitors know what’s going on along with any other important information when they visit the park. What do you think of it?
I have already seen mixed responses on social media. Bright signs and nature experiences, never go quite hand-in-hand! That said, I can say that getting information out to visitors is important as well. Let us know what you think below or join the conversation on Facebook or Twitter.

Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! Correct. Bright lights do not blend in with nature. Why ask for comments after the fact that it’s a done deal? I guess the Dells hoopla is slowly drifting into our piece of the Driftless Glen.
Comments are simply about public discussion… This is not an “Official DNR” website and we don’t hold any sway (and are not told) when these projects come up. I always argue that the public should have more voice in how their parks are operated. To reach that goal, the public has to be better informed and encouraged to share their thoughts with each other (AND park officials). This is where real advocacy will start in public discussions.
