Happy New Year! Let’s hope 2021 brings us all a happy and healthy new year! For anyone who can’t get outside today or doesn’t live near us, here’s your First Day Virtual Hike on Devil’s Lake State Park’s Roznos Meadow Trail.
Well, really it’s a “Last Evening Hike”! Devil’s Lake’s First Day Hikes start at 3 pm each year to catch the sunset, so we got out last evening when were was a break in the clouds.
This 25-minute “Slow TV” style virtual hike will travel about 1 mile covering the lower half of the Roznos Meadow Trail. Along the way, we’ll learn a bit about the trail and the geology of the park as well.

For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
