Fall Color - Ice Age Campground

This will be our last Devil’s Lake / Baraboo Hills fall color report for 2020. We are well past peak color season now. That said, you can still find some nice color in little patches here and there around the park and into the Baraboo Hills.

At A Glance

Rain is falling as I type this. We’ve had rain and our first snow this week. If you’re desperate to find color, however, you can. You want to get into deep woods and protected valleys where the leaves have been able to remain on the trees. There really are some colorful spots out there as you’ll see in the photos below. It might be harder to find a sunny day, than colorful leaves.

What Trail?

Well, it’s hard to recommend a trail at Devil’s Lake State Park for fall color this time of year. East Bluff WoodsSteinke BasinUplands & Sauk Point Trail are still your best bets for a bit of color here and there.
