Update: Parks Remain Open Regardless of “Safer At Home” Order.

The DNR announced at 10:44 am today (March 24th) that parks will remain open and all fees have now been waived. Here is the press release. So, yes, you may travel to Wisconsin State Parks during the governor’s emergency order known as “Safer At Home”.

Keep in mind that things can change in an instant without notice.

The Wisconsin DNR has created a new COVID page. I’d suggest everyone stick to “official” information. The social media rumor mill is running wild and often wrong. What someone heard from their cousin or saw at one park, doesn’t mean it’s true or that all parks are doing the same thing.

  1. Although I’d just read the museums etc have closed effective immediately . And you have a typo above “and all fees have no been waived” so is that no or not.

      1. Glad I pointed it out since I got it wrong . figured it was not. , hadn’t thought now 🙂 Bit early for the park but then again when I was young (late 70’s very early 80’s I have a pic in the fall of my uncle in long hair (hasn’t had that for a long time) 😀 taking me towards the rocks from the North Shore 🙂 Not often at the South Shore but North Shore usually. Haven’t been there since 2013 when it was around 80 at night. and I ended up getting sick. Someday though. Fascinating how much the Ice Age area has grown to look like it’s always looked like that. We in 1990 saw it as the new addition. Took me awhile to find the ol building fore firewood. Why there’s all these trees around it :O Weren’t many there in 1990 😀 They filled in nicely.
