Enjoy a Seasonal Scavenger Hunt & campfire at Devil’s Lake State Park on Saturday, Jan 18th, and be sure to run over to Sauk-Prairie for Eagle Watching Days both Friday and Saturday!
Seasonal Scavenger Hunt
Drop in at the Devil’s Lake State Park Nature Center between 12:30 and 3:30 pm this Saturday, January 18th for a winter scavenger hunt!
Families will receive a set of clues to go on a scavenger hunt. Each family will need to work as a team as they hike along the trails to complete this challenge! Some challenges require a GPS unit (provided by the Nature Center) and make sure to bring your camera! You’ll receive a small prize for completing one of the challenges. Pick up your clues at the Nature Center.
You can pick from 3 different scavenger hunts:
- Challenging – This one will take you all over the north shore.
- Somewhat Challenging – This will take you around parts of the north shore
- Not So Challenging – This one will take you around the Nature Center (This one you’ll only need a camera for and great for younger kids)
There will also be a campfire and campfire snacks outside the Nature Center!

Bald Eagle Watching Days!
The 34th Annual Bald Eagle Watching Days is THIS WEEKEND, January 17 & 18, 2020. This two-day free, family-friendly festival celebrates all things Bald Eagle! Events will occur both indoors and outdoors throughout the cities of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, WI and along the Wisconsin River. Dress in layers and be prepared to be amazed by our offerings.
IMPORTANT!! People on foot scare eagles. When viewing outside of a tour or program, please remain in your car and use it as a blind. Do not walk along the river, particularly at the hydropower dam, since that is the eagles’ most active feeding area.
