There’s nothing like a crisp winter’s day and this Saturday, February 3rd you’ll have two opportunities to get outside and get active with your family!
First at Devil’s Lake State Park from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm you can join DNR Naturalist, Sue Johansen for a fun family-friendly hike. You’ll discover all sorts of cool, fascinating things that are happening outside in winter! Restore your warmth and energy at the end back at the campfire with a hearty cinnamon-spiced, fire baked apple treat!
Contact Sue Johansen, Park Naturalist by email at Susan.JohansenMayoleth@wisconsin.gov or call (608) 356-8301 Ext. 140. Meet up at the Devil’s Lake State Park Nature Center and be sure to dress to spend the whole time outside!
Mirror Lake State Park
Meanwhile, at Mirror Lake State Park, their annual February Candlelight Ski, Hike, and Snowshoe Event will run from 6pm-8pm. Join the Friends of Mirror Lake State Park for a fun-filled winter evening. They will have 2 easy, 1-mile torch-lit trails for your family to explore. One trail for skiers (IF there’s any snow to ski on!) and the other for everyone to enjoy. The Friends group will have refreshments to enjoy around roaring bonfires. For more information Call the Mirror Lake State Park office at 608-254-2333 or visit the friendsofmirrorlake.org.
2018 Wisconsin State Park stickers are required at both parks and can be purchased now and the day of the event.
