It’s not always easy to find an open bathroom during the winter months at Devil’s Lake State Park and for the next couple of days, it will be even more challenging. Beginning Monday, Dec, 11th through Wed Dec 13th, all water at the north shore will be temporarily turned off. This means there will be no running water restrooms at all at the north shore Visitor Center or at the park headquarters building.
There will be a temporary portable toilet at the north shore Visitor Center. The vault toilet building near the north shore railroad crossing will be open and available. A winterized water tap will continue to be available for campers in the Quartzite Campground, behind campsite #48.
Also note that the women’s restroom at the north shore headquarters building will be closed for renovations through the winter months so you’ll have to head over to the Visitor Center.
Normally, there are about 8 non-flush restrooms that remain open in the park through the winter. The north shore Visitor Center and Headquarters restrooms are open year-round. Well, they will be once the work we just talked about is done.
