It’s holiday parade season in the Devil’s Lake region. Here’s the info on the 4 closest Christmas light parades. With a little planning, you can catch them all!
Friday, November 17 – Sauk-Prairie (10 minutes south of Devil’s Lake)
Time: 6pm to 9pm
Come join us for a great Holiday Event! At 6:00 pm, our Holiday Light Parade starts from the Sauk Prairie Middle School. The parade will head down Hemlock Street to Sycamore Street, and from there it will follow the “Cow Chip Parade Route”: running down Sycamore Street to Grand Avenue, down Grand Avenue to 1st Street, and down 1st Street to end right in front of Marion Park.
Right after the parade, join us for the Tree Lighting Event at 7:30 pm at Marion Park. You’ll be entertained by local youth talent and FIREWORKS! Marion Park will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland with hundreds of lights. Refreshments will be on sale at the Marion Park Gazebo.
Saturday, November 18 – Baraboo ( 5 minutes north of Devil’s Lake)
Downtown Baraboo Christmas Light Parade – See glittering lighted floats, reindeer and equestrian units, marching bands and novelty units. A Coloring Contest is held for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade for the opportunity to ride with Santa on his float in the parade. Gather at the historic Al. Ringling Theatre to witness Santa as he lights the Official Downtown Baraboo Holiday Tree. After the parade, children and families are invited to visit with Santa on the theatre stage and have their pictures taken. Friday, November 24th – Portage ( 20 minutes east of Devil’s Lake)
The parade will proceed down Conant St. right on Wisconsin St, left on to Cook St. to Adams St. where it ends. Santa will light the Community Tree after the parade at Commerce Plaza with caroling and music of the season. Compliments of Downtown Portage Inc.: hot, steamy beverages and cookies will be available on the streets along the parade route and at Commerce Plaza.
Saturday, December 9th – Wonewoc ( 40 minutes from Devil’s Lake)
Time: 6pm to 8pm
Wonewoc has an amazing parade consisting of typically over 50 entries all glowing in lights. Kick off the Holiday season by joining in for a fun-filled evening. The parade starts at 6pm leaving from Bakers Field traveling along Hwy 33 and Center Street to the Wonewoc Fire Department. Other festivities start around 5pm. Local businesses are open with extended hours for you to do some Christmas Shopping. Bring out the entire family and enjoy the food and music!
