The July 4th Weekend Haps!

The July 4th Weekend Haps!

Again there will be no community fireworks in the city of Baraboo. (No comment!) Visitors to Devil’s Lake State Park who want to celebrate Independence Day with a great fireworks display will need to bypass Baraboo and head to one of the surrounding communities.

Our favorite Independence Day celebration is Sauk Prairie’s Fire on the River. Sauk Prairie is about 15 minutes south of Baraboo. Fire on the River event runs from June 30th to July 1st. The fireworks show will be held on Saturday evening, weather permitting. During the weekend event, there will be food, crafts, live music and more.  Visit the Sauk Prairie Fire on the River website for map and details.

In addition to Sauk, there will also be fireworks displays in every community surrounding Baraboo including the village of Merrimac just southeast of Devil’s Lake. Click a city for a link to their events information;

  1. citizens of baraboo

    Sounds like every member of the Baraboo chamber of commerce needs to be fired or voted out on the next election because they cant seem to do their job pertaining to set up a fireworks event every year and how is it their decision to take money donated by its citizens for a fireworks event and spend it on saving the circus anyways….
