It’s been a while since we’ve been out checking the critter cameras at Devil’s Lake State Park, but when we do we always find interesting critters! The picture above is a red fox passing by the camera on an early May morning.
It’s been pretty interesting seeing all of the animals that have crossed by the cameras; animals we typically don’t get a chance to see. Of course, there are they usuals – raccoons and deer too!
A flying squirrel. We’ve caught this one a couple of times on this camera. It’s always fun to catch these on camera since they are a nocturnal species that you rarely get a chance to see.
An owl! (It’s sitting on the log in the top left corner of the picture). This was caught on the camera near the Nature Center. Check out the picture below for a close up. *Image contributed by the Devils Lake State Park Nature Center.

It’s amazing we don’t get more deer on our cameras, but we do get some. *Image contributed by the Devils Lake State Park Nature Center.
And of course . . . a raccoon!
