Fall Colors, October 9-11th

Fall Colors, October 9-11th

Here in the Baraboo Hills / Devil’s Lake State Park area we are still a couple of weeks away from peak colors.  What you’ll see this weekend will be mostly green and yellowing hills.  Now, if you look a little closer you will find the occasional brightly colored maple tree,  (Especially in the Devil’s Lake State Park parking areas), bright red sumac trees and some wonderfully pink and purple asters.   If you’re looking for peak colors, hold on for bit. 🙂

On Saturday (Oct 10th) evening you can join the park naturalist for a Fall Night Hike and Campfire at Devil’s Lake State Park from 7:30 – 9:30 pm. The hike Starts at 8:00 pm (Meet at the Nature Center). Experience nature at night! On our hike we’ll look for clues to some of the animals living in the woods. You’ll also find out how these animals do in the dark! The Hike will start at 8:00 pm and last about an hour. We’ll end our adventure at the campfire and roast marshmallows.
