Labor Day weekend in Wisconsin is the perfect time to toss your um, well. . . . stuff! What you toss is up to you! You can toss your stuff into your new digs at the UW Madison, toss cow pies in Sauk-Prairie or toss frying pans at Baraboo’s annual River Rendezvous! Heck, we don’t give a toss what you throw! At Devil’s Lake State Park
Aug. 31: Friday Night Fish Fry at Devil’s Lake State Park, 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. at the north shore Chateau. Eat inside or outside. $10 per person.
Sept. 1: Animal Feeding Day at the Nature Center! Ever seen a salamander eat? Want to see a tree frog gulp down a cricket? How about watching a snake devour a mouse? Stop in the nature center to watch our animals have some lunch. Easily one of the most popular weekend programs at the park!
Sept. 2: Big Band Dance In The Park at Devil’s Lake State Park, Baraboo, 7:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. North shore Chateau. Dance to the big-band sounds of The Hal Edwards Orchestra in Wisconsin’s most romantic dance pavilion. Tickets: $10.00. This is the last dance of the season. At Mirror Lake State Park
Sept. 1: Geology Nature Hike, Mirror Lake State Park, Lake Delton, 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. Meet at the boat landing to hike and learn about the unique geology of the Wisconsin Dells and Mirror Lake area. Call 608-254-2333 or e-mail email@example.com with questions.

Aug. 30: Historic Walking Tour Of Downtown Baraboo, 5:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m. See where the Ringling Brothers first performed, the legacy they left and more. Meet at the Coffee Bean Connection at 701 Oak Street. $5.00.
Aug. 30: Downtown Baraboo’s Concerts On The Square, 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Levee Town, a Kansas City blues-rock band.
Aug. 31–Sept. 1, 2012: 38th Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw And Festival, Marion Park, Prairie du Sac, Wis. The Tournament Of Chips Parade is Sept. 1 at 12:00 p.m. Also enjoy more than 125 exhibits of fine arts and crafts, musical performances, a brimming food court and more. Aug. 31–Sept. 2, 2012: Baraboo River Rendezvous: Reenactment of the pre-1840 fur trade era: hawk and knife throws, pie baking contest, flint fire starting, trap toss, fry pan throw (women only), fishing on the river, blanket bow shoot and period food. Admission $1.00. See some video!
Sept 1: Harry Potter Adventure in Reedsburg, WI., The Harry Potter Adventure is a family friendly annual festival for Harry Potter fans to gather for a day of games, activities, food and fun. Children and adults are welcome to attend all activities. 2012 event will feature Quidditch Adventure Cup games and Sorcerer’s Quest. Costumes are encouraged! Admission: $27 includes both features or $21 for just the Sorcerer’s Quest.
