Open Hunting Regulations
- Devil’s Lake State Park is no longer a deer registration station for bow or gun seasons.
- Be sure to ask permission prior to hunting on private property. The shaded areas on the Open Hunting Map indicate private property.
- Closed areas within the park are not open for hunting or any activity which would cause deer to be driven into a legally open hunting area.
- Tree stands or elevated devices must be completely removed each day at the close of hunting hours.
- It is illegal to construct or use tree stands or elevated devices on state property which causes damage to the tree.
- It is illegal to possess any firearm in the closed areas unless it is unloaded and enclosed within a carrying case. Campgrounds and picnic areas are considered closed areas.
- It is illegal to possess a bow/crossbow in the closed areas unless it is unstrung or enclosed in a carrying case.
- It is illegal to hunt or shoot within 50 feet from the centerline of concrete, blacktopped, or unpaved public roads.
- No animals except deer may be hunted in the state park
- Firearms must be unloaded and enclosed in a carrying case when transporting in or on a vehicle.
