Big Band Concerts
Enjoy the music! Listen and dance to the sound of live bands, the Hal Edwards Orchestra or the Summer Wind Band, in the historic north shore Chateau overlooking beautiful Devil’s Lake. Admission is $5.
Dances at the Chateau are a decades-long tradition but will only be held once a month through 2011.
Music in the Park
The last Sunday of the month in the summer, 6 p.m., outdoors along the north shore of the lake, or in the Chateau in case of rain. The exact dates and performances will be announced.
Universe in the Park
Usually 2-3 times per summer. Watch for dates to be announced. Join astronomers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Astronomy Program for an evening of exploring the universe. The park naturalist will be on hand to answer your questions about Devil’s Lake until dusk falls and the program begins. At the outdoor amphitheater in the Northern Lights Campground.
Devil’s Challenge Triathlon
The Devil’s Challenge Triathalon is usually held in mid-September. For 2011 it will probably be Sunday, September 18. Watch for confirmation of the date. If you’re up to it, swim 0.25 miles, bicycle 15 miles, then run 3 miles. Contact Wisconsin Triathalon Series for information and registration. Starts at Devil’s Lake north shore.
Badger Trails Youth Camping
September 30 – October 2, 2011. Camp with more than 2,000 youth campers (mostly Boy Scouts), hike 13 miles, attend a teen dance, and have a good time. Contact Badger Trails for more information.
