S’Mores, Perseids, Bows & Ropes, This Weekend at Devil’s Lake

It’s August 10th already! We’ve only got a few big weekends here in the Baraboo Hills before the kids go back to school and things begin to take on the slightly quieter atmosphere of autumn. Right now though, it’s still summer and we’ve got a busy weekend ahead. Let’s take a look at this weekend’s events.

Let me kick off with the regular weekend events at Devil’s Lake State Park. First, there will be kayak tours Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. You can find more info on our events calendar here. The main thing is if you want to go, call the nature center at (608) 356-8301 ext. 140 right away to register in advance.  There is also a Friday Fish Fry out front of the north shore Chateau from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm. Cost is $11.50 per plate.  Lastly, if you need help choosing a hiking trail this weekend, remember to run up to the nature center for “Find A Trail” from 9-10am, Thur, Fri & Sat. The naturalist is there to help you choose a trail, learn what you’ll need to take and what to expect. Now on to the other weekend events…
