Capitol Area Carvers of Wisconsin

Wood Carving Demonstrations

Drop in Between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Activities will be happening at the Nature Center

Join the Capital Area Carvers of Wisconsin group for a day of wood carving! They will be at the Nature Center ready to answer your questions about wood carving, show you some techniques, and give short demonstrations on different styles and types of carving. Feel free to drop in anytime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Frog Safari - Devils Lake State Park

7:30 – 9:00 pm
Meet at the Steinke Basin parking lot  (Google Map)

If you are a frog fanatic, you will want to join us for this nocturnal trip to the park’s kettle ponds. We’ll listen for spring peepers, wood frogs, and chorus frogs. We’ll spend some time looking for frogs too. We’ll explore, play Frog Bingo, and listen for other night sounds. Bring your flashlight as we’ll be hiking right around dusk.

Don’t Forget . . .
A Hike Back in Time happening Saturday too! The hike will start at 9:00 am at Steinke Basin. (Google Map) Join Ken Lange on a hike up the bluffs to learn about the fascinating geologic features in the park.
