We’re on for another 4 day gun deer hunt Dec. 8-11, so it’s a great weekend to get into town and enjoy the local holiday events! The Sauk County Historical Society’s “An Edwardian Christmas” is this weekend as well as the Very Merry Holiday Fair. Both events are held in Baraboo, just outside of the park.
The Sauk County Historical Society’s “An Edwardian Christmas” is held at the Van Orden Mansion, 531 4th Avenue in Baraboo. Saturday, Dec. 10. Noon to 7 pm! Horse & Wagon rides, live holiday music and a dining room filled with holiday treats! 12 Christmas trees decorated in a variety of themes.. Admission is $5 for Members, $7 for Non-Members.
Check out the The Very Merry Holiday Fair with over sixty artisans, authors and purveyors of good things to eat, is held at the Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall at 323 Water Street in Baraboo,Wisconsin. Event times: Friday, Dec 9 from Noon to 6:00 pm & Saturday, Dec 10, 2016 9 am to 4 pm. FREE ADMISSION both days!
If you plan on visiting Devil’s Lake State Park this weekend, you can expect it to be cold with day-time highs in the low 20’s. One to three inches of snow is expected on Saturday. Trails are not maintained in winter of course and can be treacherous. If you do go out, remember, keep an eye out for gun deer hunters! The four-day antlerless-only, gun hunt will run from Dec. 8 to the 11th.
