Kick off Christmas with TWO holiday light parades! Friday in Sauk Prairie & Saturday in Downtown Baraboo!
At 6:00pm, The Sauk Prairie Holiday Light Parade start from the Sauk Prairie Middle School and follow the “Cow Chip Parade Route” through town to end right in front of Marion Park. After the parade, the Tree Lighting ceremony is at 7:00pm at Marion Park. Oh, and of course there will be FIREWORKS! Refreshments will be on sale at the Marion Park Gazebo. Saturday night at 6pm the Downtown Baraboo Christmas Light Parade will kick off on the historic Downtown Square. See glittering lighted floats, reindeer and equestrian units, marching bands and novelty units. A Coloring Contest is held for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade for the opportunity to ride with Santa on his float in the parade. Gather at the historic Al. Ringling Theatre to witness Santa as he lights the Official Downtown Baraboo Holiday Tree. After the parade, children and families are invited to visit with Santa on the theatre stage and have their pictures taken. Click here for more information.
In the case of both events, it’s a good idea to get there early to find parking and a viewing spot.
If you are looking to fill the day on Saturday, bring your family out to Devil’s Lake State Park for a Letterboxing Adventure anytime between 10am and 2:30 pm. It’s a fun, independant, outdoor, family activity that you can enjoy at your own pace. Click here for details on that.
Have a great weekend! (And remember, it’s hunting season!)
