Join us as we capture, tag and release monarch butterflies at Devil’s Lake State Park Saturday, September 3 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.!
The monarchs are starting to migrate south for the winter and it’s a perfect time for us to capture and tag them. The results will be recorded with MonarchWatch.org. Last fall, we tagged 15 monarchs but none of the ones we tagged were recaptured in Mexico. 🙁 Let’s see how we can do this year!
The park will provide the nets and monarch tags. There are a limited number of nets, so if you have your own, feel free to bring them along.
Meet at Devil’s Lake State Park’s Steinke Basin Parking Lot.
Can’t Make the Event This Saturday . . .
Join us again on Saturday, September 10 and 17 at Steinke Basin. We’ll tag monarchs again between 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
