There are two great ways to watch & learn about our bats at Devil’s Lake State Park this weekend. The Lawn Chair Bat Watch on Friday, August 26 & the (last of the season) High-Tech Bat Hike on Saturday, August 27!
Lawn Chair Bat Watch
Friday, August 26
Starting at 7:45 pm
Meet at the bat condo (near the north shore boat launch)
It’s a great time to bring a comfy lawn chair and watch the bats! We’ll park our chairs by the bat condo to watch the bats emerge from the bat condo. We’ll have fun bat information and a bat scavenger hunt for the kids to do while the wait to the bats to emerge.
(The last one of the year!)
7:45 – 9:30 pm
Meet at the Nature CenterOur bat hikes have gone high-tech! Join us for a stroll by the lake to find bats. We’ll use special hand-held devices that will record the bats’ calls and amplify them so we can hear them. These observations will go back to the Wisconsin Bat Program to help them in their bat research.
