Lot’s to do this Weekend!

There’s a lot to do this Memorial Day weekend at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wisconsin from kayak tours to exploring the night sky! Check out these (Mostly) Free park events going on this weekend.

Devil's Lake State Park Bat Watch

Devil’s Lake State Park Bat Watch

Friday Lawn Chair Bat Watch

We start out with the first Friday Lawn Chair Bat Watch IS this weekend, Friday, May 27, starting at 8:15 p.m.  Folks will be gathering at the bat condo which is right by the north shore boat launch and easy to find.  It’s a great time to bring a comfy lawn chair and watch the bats! We’ll park our chairs by the bat condo and watch the bats emerge from the houses. We’ll have fun bat information and a bat scavenger hunt for the kids to do while the wait to the bats to emerge.

Watch The Weather! The rain that is predicted at the moment may cause the park to cancel. To check if the program is still happening please call the Nature Center.

If you miss this one; don’t worry! The Lawn Chair Bat Watches happen every Friday night throughout the summer.

*** Sadly it’s very possible that these popular bat watches may not last much longer due to the fast decline of bats in Wisconsin caused by white nose syndrome.
