Quiet times here at Devil’s Lake State Park.  Yesterday we hiked the West Bluff Trail up and over the cliffs that surround Devil’s Lake.   For what it’s worth, while it may seem like a good idea to hike  south to north over the west bluff to avoid the crazy stairs on the north shore… it’s not.  Going up the south end just spreads things out and will take it out of you as well.   Yesterday, (Going south to north by the way..) we passed a few other hikers on the trail.  Each had a comment about the quiet times, the season or simply what a beautiful day it was to be out.  That’s the thing about the outdoor life.  Regardless of the weather it’s always great to be out.  The hard part is just getting out there in the first place.  I’ve posted a few more pics from yesterday up on our flickr.
