Rescue at Devil’s Lake

Each year there seems to be at least one fall from the high cliffs at Devil’s Lake State Park.  We try to repeat as often as we can here that the folks who fall are almost never “Climbers”.  The press is often a bit loose with that word and it gives a false impression.  No, usually the people who are injured at the park are simply hikers, vacationers who get to close to an edge or take some other un-necessary risk.  It’s easy to be on vacation and get lulled into a false sense of security, and yet we have to keep in mind that nature can be pretty unforgiving.  Devil’s Lake has no railings. You must look out for your own safty while on the high trails and elsewhere.  Today, I’m sharing with you a video that was posted on YouTube about a rescue at Devil’s Lake.   Part 2 is here.
