Pictures, Pictures

The picture above is actually a post card from my personal collection of historic Devil’s Lake & Baraboo area cards. South Shore Rd., now runs where these homes used to be. Today there are only 4 private homes that still exist on the lake shore. The South-West corner of the lake (pictures here) is where the south shore boat landing is today. Times change. It’s always interesting to see pictures of the park. To see how it changes from season to season and year to year, and sometimes even day to day.
Over the last decade or so I’ve been roaming the park almost daily, and most of those days I’ve had one camera or another in hand. It’s almost become impossible to sort through the hundreds of pictures I’ve collected. Especially when so many are obviously not great photographs, but still hold some personal memory or image of change that I can’t bare to delete. While I post a few images here at DevilsLakeWisconsin.com, many others have been just languishing away on old hard drives. Well, let’s do somthing about that shall we!? I’ve begun posting many more images over on our new Flickr page. I’m putting up lots of Devil’s Lake Photographs of course and also will be adding pics from around the area and other points of interest as well. Right now I have up a fall color gallery, a winter gallery, and for something completely different, a gallery from Lost River Cave which we visited last weekend in Kentucky. http://www.flickr.com/photos/skilletcreek/ More will follow soon… Enjoy!
