Summer Revisited

The recent rise in visitors here at DevilsLakeWisconsin.com is annual event as everyone begins to really think about their summer vacations. The “old dogs” know of course that if you want to reserve a campsite for a summer weekend at Devil’s Lake State Park, you need to do it long before the winter’s snow melts away. People looking to reserve shelters can find them booked up sometimes 6 months or more in advance! While you are trying to decide which campsites to go for remember that we have a good majority of Devil’s Lake’s campsites photographed right here.
As for me, I’m just happy to share a nice summer photograph with you. Especially while I watch the snow once again accumlating outside my window!
Fog & Snow Pics

Nothing like a cold winter’s day to inspire you to sort through some photos of Devil’s Lake State Park. If you’ve had a chance to browse around the photo gallery over the last couple days you’ve seen that there are new photos added to both the Winter & the Rock Climbing Galleries. I’ve also added a new “Rain & Fog” gallery as well. Few of us have the opportunity to see the park in it’s many moods. I hope the new gallery gives you a new perspective on Devil’s Lake.
Ski Trails?
Steinke Basin on February 11th, 2009
They say one man’s heaven is another’s hell. Such is life on the trails at Devil’s Lake State Park. With the sudden surge of higher temperatures the trails are not suitable for skiing. Of course spring is a little way off and things can change. But for the moment at least the sudden appearance of grass certainly looks inviting for an early season hike. (Hikers are banned from snow covered trails designated for skiing.) Of course an intrepid hiker better bring boots or plan for very wet feet.

Not Spring Yet

I was browsing spring photographs this morning while working updates for WisDells.net and thought I’d just pop over and share a “spring at Devi’s Lake” picture for a bit of encouragement. The nice thing about February first is that it means March is only 4 weeks away. We can see the end of Winter. I suppose this is a good time to remind you that reservations for peak weekends are going fast and some may be gone already. If you’ve not reserved for summer yet, you should really a. . . “Spring” into action. (Sorry, it was there!)
