Northern Lights

Well, it’s not the northern lights but it is the road leading to the northern lights campground. There is a bit of a rainbow though. Here’s a tip for all you amateur photographers out there. You all know that sunset is the a great time to get good photos. You also know that shooting through car windows can be a real pain in the bum and should always be avoided if possible. However, occasionally that blue strip of colored glass at the top of your windshield can come in handy when you don’t have a filter for your camera. In the shot above, that deep blue in the sky was obtained simply by shooting through the tint in the windshield. Cool huh?

Yesterday the park was pretty cold, dark and empty on the lake with just a few ice fisherman hiding away in their huts.  It’s sort of nice though.  You walk out on the frozen lake in a frozen silent world while the occasional aroma of wood smoke passes by you in the air.
