DLK Color Report

Yesterday, October 6th, 2008 we hiked up the west bluff and enjoyed the strong southern wind racing through the trees.  Right now most of the park is still pretty green, however there is quite a bit of rich color right at the north shore parking area. (see above).  Back in the distance of this photo you will see the “Narrows”.  That’s where those background hills seem to dip down in the background. (Center, Top).  If you come to Baraboo on I90/94 & Hwy 33, you drive through that spot to enter the Baraboo Valley.

Something else worth seeing at the park right now are the Vultures.  While a few hang out here for the winter, most head south.  Devil’s Lake is a gathering spot for Vultures all over the midwest and right this moment the skies over the park are full of ‘em!
