We were out hiking on Stinke Basin which is now open again. It’s about time too! I love these trails since most of the time you seem to have them to yourself other than the few other hikers that make it a bit off the beaten path. South shore road is now open as well which saves you all sorts of time when driving in from Baraboo. Of course the downside is just when things start looking up the recent chilly evenings remind us that autumn is not far away.

Autumn is one of the best times to be at the lake! The colors and the weather are amazing!!!!
Sadly though, no swimming, unless you’re heroic enough to brave the icy waters.
I’m glad to hear the South Beach road is open again. With the steamy week ahead, I’m looking forward to coming up swimming with the kids. I hope the water level will at least be lower than the retaining walls. Wading through the muddy “lawn” area is a bit unpleasant.
