Here is the Official Word;

Devil’s Lake State Park will open on Thursday, June 26 at 6 a.m.

* All campgrounds will be open and showers and flush toilets will be available in the campgrounds.
* The West and East Bluff trails will be open.
* The beaches are currently under water but visitors are still allowed to swim in the lake.
* Portions of the North Shore picnic area will be open.
* Most of the South Shore picnic area will be open but all bathroom facilities will remain closed.

We still have some trails and facilities that will be closed because of the flooding and storm damage.

* Many of the trails will be closed until further notice.
* Both boat landings will be closed until further notice.
* Portions of the picnic areas will be closed to public use.
* All bathroom facilities at the the South Shore picnic area are closed due to the flooding of the sewer system. Portable toilets will be available for visitors to use.

Parfrey’s Glen is closed and will remain closed until repairs can be done. Barricades are posted at the entrance. No admittance is allowed, including walking in on foot.

Compare that to my comment on the last post. . . lucky guess!!

So are the climbing areas going to be open? (i.e. CCC/EastBluff areas) And is there any chance of getting at those areas tomorrow? (Wednesday)

Open Thursday, not tomorrow. The statement does not mention CCC or Potholes trails but I think it’s reasonable to assume they will be ok. If not you can always go up balanced rock and work your way over. One way or another you should be able to get there.

Thanks so much for putting this website together!! We’re planning a trip July 2-6, with all of the water the area has had can you tell us how the mosquitoes are? I can handle anything but am a big baby when it comes to mosquitoes, lol. Thanks.

Glad to hear the park will be open this weekend. We’ve had reservations since April and have never been there. I’ve read articles about the opening from different sources, but none has mentioned Hwy 113. According to the WI DOT, it’s still closed. Is that true?

thanks for the updates! Highly appreciated.

What’s Parfrey’s Glen? been to Devil’s lake a few times but never heard about that.

Thanks for all hard work

I really appreciate all the updates and photos you have posted here. Devil’s Lake has been a family tradition to us - as many others. Looking forward to new pix later this week.

What day was the flooding pictures taken? I just want to get an idea about how flooded the lake is for the June 28th weekend.

Parfrey’s Glen is a beautiful trail that follows a creek through woods and cliffs. It’s one of my favorite spots in WI. The entrance is about a mile or two from Devil’s lake. I think it’s a part of the ice age trail.

Thanks so much for the constant updates! Devil’s Lake is absolutely beautiful and this year will be our family’s 20th anniversary coming to Devil’s Lake for a full week every year. (Except for the flood of 1993. We have family coming from Colorado and Arizona.
