From The Park: "The park is closed for all use through June 25, including campers, day users, boaters, walkers, and driving sightseers. Rainwater and flooding have washed out some campsites, high water makes roads impassable in several places, railroad tracks have been washed out, and sewer and water utilities are down in some areas. We expect to have an update on the status of the park on Tuesday, June 24."

Anxious to Camp on June 21st, 2008 at 11:29 am #

Ugh - My heartaches as I read the updates. We have a family camping trip coming up on the week of the 4th of July….. We are anxious to hear if we can still go.

We appreciate this blog and providing us with updates. I hope there is another update prior to the 25th…

Wonder if they are thinking the park will be in manageable, good or great condition

We love this park - Hope everything bounces back quickly and everyone is safe.

I have a camping trip booked too - Wonder if we can check status of our site … Is it muddy? Close to the flood waters?

How far have the waters gone down, Baraboo People?

I really hope it goes down by mid July, that’s when my boyfriend and I had reserved an Ice Age campsite. I’ve been planning this trip since December, I hope I get to go!!

We are camping over the 4th of July in Northern Lights campground. Was that area affected ? Any need to change our plans?

Waiting to hear on June 23rd, 2008 at 7:46 pm #

How’s it going up there? Any news?? I hope we can camp during the 4th of July!!!
In happy anticipation - Any ideas on keeping the mosquitos out of the site… I’m sure we’ll be inidated with them this season…

Hope everyone is safe and healthy …. and hope those waters are receding in record time … if not, we’ll be tenting in our backyard to satisfy the kids :)

Regarding mosquitos–I read an article which insists original listerine placed around the area works to keep them away. I plan to give it a try. Hope the park is in good condition for us all. I also have a trip planned for the family weekend of July 4th. We always love the Baraboo fireworks!!!

Its nice to read from everyone camping over the July 4th holiday. We are also in Iceage. Its nice to know everyone has ants in the pants just like us hoping to get out there. Jean I plan to give the listerine a try too. I will try everything.

I’ll try the Listerine too. Give a wave when you see the Listerine users, lol.
