By 8am we were walking up the East Bluff Woods trail. May Apples & Ferns are shooting up through the brown leaf covered ground to add a bit of color. EBW trail has a number of areas that have been washed out by the spring thaw, but nothing you can’t hop over.

The picture above is of Balanced Rock which is one of the popular rock formations on the East Bluff. You can work your way up to Balanced Rock from the south shore parking area via the aptly named "Balanced Rock Trail". You don’t need to be an athlete to work you’re way up but you’ll certainly get a  chance to assess your personal fitness, including a spot along the trail where the pass between a rock and tree may be a bit narrow for some frames.

Fishing boats were on the lake early today despite the chill. One fisherman leaned back in his boat wrapped up in his parka with fur lined hood. Cute.
